These photos were taken earlier this morning from a location which is normally jammed packed with cars, buses, taxis, cyclists, pedestrians etc etc etc…..get the picture?

Granted that there are no on going road works during the London 2012 Olympics but the message seems to have got through. Londoner’s have been scared away from the City. Olympic games lanes are empty, hotel rooms are unoccupied, some landlords have been left high and dry as they struggle to find “Olympic” tenants.

A classic case of being too greedy? Best of all though, overpriced Black taxi are driving around empty, maybe they need to be less greedy too and reduce their prices.

Notwithstanding this, no doubt in a few weeks time we will be told by the Olympic authorities, politicians and transport officials that everything went according to plan and the Games were a huge success!

Not sure that all British businesses will agree.

Common sense, don’t hold the Olympics in your City without it.

700,000 Olympics tickets unsold – Home News – UK – The Independent.

It appears that a lot of tickets remain unsold to the “greatest show on earth”

Whilst this appears to be a disaster, many of these unsold tickets are to football events, not really an Olympic sport, just a cash cow (that was ‘plan A’ anyway)

So it seems that sections of stadia will be cut off and no doubt the TV cameras have been instructed to avoid concentrating on empty seating areas.

In any case, if Olympic venues are empty, the authorities can always rely on school children filling them up for free. Assuming that is, that their parents haven’t already fled London on the express instruction of the travel authorities.

Common sense, don’t hold the Olympics in your city without it.

The great Olympic Game food and drink rip off #cheating #austerity #unfair

London Olympic Game food and drink prices a ‘shocker’.

In the latest shock news surrounding the Olympics, it is revealed that a bottle of water will cost £1.80

Unless this is the price for a 5 litre bottle, this has to be the most disgraceful attempt at profiteering from the Games.

Spectators will not be able to take a “picnic”, what about Human rights? Where is Brussels when you need it…..oh maybe they’re in on it too?

The defence is that prices are comparable with other event locations. Hello….those prices are a rip off as well. If I told you to stick your head in a gas oven, would you do it?

Some other prices…..

Fish ‘n’ chips £8

Nachos £8

Cumberland sausage £8

Pint of beer, over £4

On the upside there is plenty of profit left for the taxpayer.

Time for the people to stand up?

Common sense, don’t buy food and drink at the Olympics without it!
